The Student Experience
Studying at ULMaS is likely to be very different from life in your current school. We purposefully design the way education works here to get you ready for university study and a career working in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. That means more independence but also an expectation that you will learn to work as part of a team, give confident, clear and interesting presentations and find imaginative ways to tackle new an interesting problems using the tools you have been given. You'll know your teachers by their first names and they will treat you as an intelligent young person who is interested in the material we are studying and the problems we are enjoying solving together.
As well as the usual lessons for A-Level Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science we also teach weekly lectures - so that you are ready for learning lecture-style before you go to university. There many opportunities for small group work - whether that be as part of your AMP Projects, Educational Visits, or reviewing the latest assessment to see how you could improve for next time.
Students and staff run a range of clubs and other enrichment activities every week. Find out more about what is available on our enrichment page. Students often add their own clubs to enrich life for everyone at school.
