The Student Cabinet

ULMaS has developed a lot in its first few years by listening carefully to the students and using their ideas and views to improve the school and students' experience.  To begin with we did this through lots of surveys and focus groups, and we still do quite a bit of this kind of research.  In the last few years we have developed a more formally structured student political leadership model which is driven by the students and based on a written constitution.

The student cabinet organises charity fundraising events, social events and concerts.  It also represents the students in making a case to the school's leadership team when students can see a way to improve the school.  Members of the cabinet also meet regularly with the school's Board of Trustees, and the Members of the Trust to give governors a direct view of the students' experience of school.
